Evidence-Based Parent Education & Coaching

Supporting families from pregnancy through age five through education, coaching, and practical guidance rooted in child development, attachment, social-emotional development, and healthy relationships.

Parenting Is a Journey. Support Should Grow With You.

Children change rapidly during their earliest years—and parents are constantly learning alongside them. What worked several months ago may suddenly stop working. A new developmental stage may bring behavior that feels confusing. A growing family can shift routines, relationships, sleep, and expectations almost overnight.

Connected Family Coaching provides personalized support designed around your family’s current stage of life. Whether you’re preparing for your baby’s arrival, navigating the toddler years, trying to understand big emotions, or supporting your preschooler through new developmental milestones, coaching offers practical guidance tailored specifically to your family’s needs.

Together we’ll build confidence, strengthen relationships, and create strategies that fit your everyday life.

Behavior Is Communication

Young children often communicate through behavior before they have the language, regulation, or developmental skills to explain what is happening inside of them.

Connected Family Coaching helps parents move beyond simply asking:

“How do I stop this behavior?”

and become curious about:

“What might my child be communicating, and what are they still learning?”

Understanding the need beneath behavior does not mean removing limits. Connection and boundaries can exist together.

Parents can hold expectations while remaining emotionally available, teach new skills while acknowledging difficult feelings, and help children gradually develop the capacities they are still building.

Bringing Baby Home®

Preparing Your Relationship for Parenthood

Welcoming a baby is an extraordinary experience—and it can also change nearly every part of a couple’s daily life. Sleep, responsibilities, communication, intimacy, time together, and even the ways partners experience one another can shift as two people adjust to caring for a new baby.

Bringing Baby Home® is a research-based program developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman to help couples prepare not only for their baby, but for the transition their relationship is about to experience.

The goal is to help couples enter parenthood with greater understanding of what may change, practical tools for navigating those changes together, and a stronger sense that they are approaching this new season as a team.

What Will We Learn?

Throughout the program, couples learn practical skills they can begin using before their baby arrives and continue using as their family grows, including how to:

  • Strengthen friendship and emotional connection as partners
  • Communicate needs more clearly during stressful or exhausting moments
  • Recognize and respond to each other’s bids for connection
  • Navigate conflict in healthier and more productive ways
  • Reduce criticism, defensiveness, and patterns that can create distance
  • Talk about changing roles, responsibilities, and expectations
  • Approach household and parenting responsibilities as a team
  • Maintain connection and intimacy as the couple relationship changes
  • Understand how becoming parents can affect each partner differently
  • Support one another through the emotional adjustment to parenthood
  • Understand your baby’s cues and emotional needs
  • Build connection and attachment with your baby
  • Support your baby’s social-emotional development
  • Understand the importance of responsive parenting
  • Recognize signs of postpartum depression and other postpartum mood concerns
  • Strengthen the foundation of your relationship as your family grows

Why Take Bringing Baby Home®?

Many couples spend months preparing for the practical parts of having a baby—choosing equipment, preparing the nursery, learning about feeding and sleep, and making plans for labor and delivery.

Far fewer are given an opportunity to intentionally prepare for what becoming parents may mean for their relationship.

Bringing Baby Home® creates that space.

Instead of waiting until both partners are exhausted or disconnected to figure out how to communicate about sleep, responsibilities, intimacy, parenting differences, or feeling unsupported, couples can begin having these conversations before those challenges arise.

For couples who already have children, the program can also provide an opportunity to reconnect, strengthen communication, and approach the next stage of family life with greater intention.

This isn’t about creating a perfect relationship or eliminating conflict. Conflict and adjustment are normal parts of family life. The goal is to give couples practical tools for staying connected, understanding one another, repairing when things become difficult, and continuing to nurture their relationship while also caring for their child.

When the couple relationship feels supported, parents have a stronger foundation from which to support their growing family.

Who Is Bringing Baby Home® For?

Bringing Baby Home® can be helpful for:

  • Expectant couples
  • Couples considering or preparing for pregnancy

Our Philosophy

At Intentional Healing Counseling & Coaching, we believe healthy families are built through connection, understanding, curiosity, and intentional relationships.

Parenting isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about remaining curious, learning alongside your child, and responding with increasing confidence and compassion as your family grows.

Children do not need perfect parents. Parents do not need perfect children.

Families need relationships with room for boundaries, connection, learning, repair, and growth. Whether you’re preparing for your first baby or navigating the ever-changing early years, Maddie is honored to walk alongside you as you build a connected family—one stage at a time.
